Agreement About Basic Beliefs And Values

Worldviews are generally defined by reference to the “reality” category. Naturalism is therefore a worldview based on certain beliefs about nature. It is the belief that only the natural kingdom exists. And through the natural kingdom, we are talking about the world of material objects. As a result, naturalism is sometimes referred to as “materialism” or “materialistic naturalism.” Carl Sagan, a well-known astronomer and naturalist, briefly summed up the naturalistic view of reality by declaring in the cosmos: “The universe: all that has been, all that is, all that is, all that there will be.” The physical universe is all it exists and it is governed by the laws of nature. In principle, everything can be explained by material objects of natural law. Once we have survived puberty, we understand the importance of the question “Who am I?” Because we are aware of our existence, we naturally ask questions like these. What does it mean to be human? We form convictions about one or the other spiritual aspect of our nature. It helps us adapt to our mortality. It is also crucial for the search for meaning in life. Is there a purpose that life serves or are we, like animals, the product of impersonal biological forces indifferent to our existential reflections? We are also concerned about whether the history of humanity goes somewhere or not. Should we be optimistic or pessimistic about human society? Are we going in one direction? Today, the public attaches great importance to a wide range of democratic ideals and principles in the United States.

More than 16 democratic values that were questioned in the survey – including respect for the rights of all, the balance of power between government agencies and the growing serious consequences on wrongdoing – large majorities say it is very important for the country. The Americans do not hesitate to criticize. By reducing the inadequacies of the political system, Americans do not hesitate to criticize: only 39% of them say that “voters can rejoice in candidates and subjects”, describes the country very or somewhat well. Moreover, a majority of 56% indicated that they have little or no confidence in the political wisdom of the American people. But it`s less negative than at the beginning of 2016, when 64% of them had little or no confidence. Since the presidential elections, Republicans have been more confident in the political wisdom of the people. Promote respect for the integrity of cultural heritage by ensuring that decisions about change also include an understanding of the cultural values associated with them; Republicans are about twice as likely as Democrats to say that the U.S. political system is the best in the world or above average (58% vs. 27%). Four years ago, there were no partisan differences.

And fewer Democrats than Republicans believe that voter turnout in U.S. elections – both for president and on the ground – is “high.” Nearly three-quarters of Republicans (73%) “There is a high turnout in presidential elections,” the election describes well, compared to only about half of The Democrats (52%). Public opinion sends mixed signals on how to change the American political system and no proposal is supported by all parties. But in the face of many specific aspects of the political system, Republicans and Democrats are expressing their displeasure. Few say that the tone of political debate is “respectful.” Only a quarter of Americans say that “the tone of debate among political leaders is respectful” is a statement that the country describes well.
